The BPCM family in LA celebrates staff birthdays the same way Ellen fettes the birthdays of her celebrity guests.. with sweet treats from West Hollywood’s Sweet Lady Jane.
Who: BPCM’s  LA Office
What: Sweet Lady Jane
Tips: Go for the fluffy layer cakes (which Zagat calls “works of art”) for birthdays and regular pick-me-ups. While you wait for your dessert, order from an array of fresh sandwiches and homemade soups for lunch-to-go.

“I’ve wanted to go camping at El Capitan since I read about it a few years ago in C Magazine..

I have such fond memories of camping as a child, and really want my kids to experience the outdoors. My dream finally came true this summer-Richard and I took Tanner and Ripley, along with our friends Jessica and Jed and their adorable daughter James, to El Cap. We had the best time roughing it - in style. I wanted to share with you my favorite details about El Cap as well as a guide to my favorite camping accessories.” - Jenni Kayne

1. Where: El Capitan is located on the coast 20 minutes north of Santa Barbara.  It’s made up of cabins and tents and encourages a fancy version of camping.

2. Bring: Enamel blue speckled plates, bowls, and mugs, disposable bamboo plates, canvas folding chairs, and ipod speakers.

3. Eat: Everything tastes better cooked over an open fire: Gluten Free Pancakes with Blueberries, Vegan Chili, and Quinoa Pasta with Homemade Tomato Sauce.

4. Dress: El Capitan is very hot during the day and freezing at night: JBrand Jean Shorts, Birkenstocks, Cowchin Vest, and Jenni Kayne Tunic Sweater.

To read more about Jenni’s trip, visit her blog here.

BPCM CITY GUIDE: Sandro Makes a Great New Neighbor
With the opening of their second boutique in New York City at 8 Prince Street in the homey NoLita neighborhood, it almost feels as if SANDRO has always been a part of NYC. Not to mention downtown: their NoLita space fits right into the nabe, with exposed brick walls and antiqued flooring that evoke the neighborhood’s industrial history.
In addition to their new address, they are actively participating in everything the neighborhood has to offer, and creating spaces to build upon downtown’s cultural scene. Here are a few events you can come out to meet the new neighbor, and some nearby NoLita spots to make a day (or night) of it as well.

FILMS ON THE GREEN
This summer Sandro is pleased to support Films on the Green, a film festival put on the by the French Embassy and the New York City Parks and Recreation Department. Don’t miss out on the rest of this summer’s films:
July 6: Riverside Park - Pier 1, NE LE DIS A PERSONE (TELL NO ONE), 8:30 p.m.
July 13: Riverside Park - Pier 1, PERSEPOLIS, 8:30 p.m.
September 6: Columbia University, JULES ET JIM (JULES AND JIM), 7:30 p.m.

NOLITA FOOD & DRINKS FAVS
1. GRAB A CUSTOM COCKTAIL: Freeman’s 8 Rivington Street, New York, NY
2. THE BEST SLICE IN TOWN: Rubirosa 235 Mulberry Street, New York, NY
3. KEEP COOL: Cafe Habana 17 Prince Street, New York, NY

While still an industrial area of NYC, West Chelsea is successfully integrating art & culture into the developing neighborhood. Such radical changes are bringing in a new crowd of tourists and natives alike with exciting new entertainment options arousing new enthusiasm for the area.
Try: The Americano for delicious French and Latin American cuisine.
